Afrucat and the energy consultancy Energy Tools have joined forces in a Joint Venture to boost common interests such as energy management and efficiency in the field of fruit companies in Catalonia.

The objective of this collaboration agreement is to promote innovation and offer a professional energy consulting service to all Afrucat members.

As part of this agreement between the two entities, Energy Tools provides Afrucat members with the EBO management platform (which stands for Energy Business One®) to facilitate in-house energy management.

This software allows for simple and intuitive real-time monitoring of energy expenditure in euros, helping with strategic decision-making based on real consumption data and connected online to state energy markets OMIE-OMIP. The tool will enable all members to have the best economic conditions at all times, as individualized control expressed in euros will be provided.

Manel Simon, CEO of Afrucat, “We continue to work with the aim of optimizing the energy expenditure of our companies, and the best way for them to make decisions is to have all their information and be able to control their electricity bill in real-time.”

The service also includes the possibility of continuous improvement through energy audits, processing of grants and subsidies, communications on legislative changes, claims, power revisions, and energy compensations.

Jordi Rabat, CEO of Energy Tools, “Our commitment is optimization through the EBO platform, which allows for customization for each company, expense monitoring, simulations, alerts, excess power alarms, and cost and consumption reports in order to significantly reduce the economic cost of supply bills.”

The Catalan fruit sector has been auctioning its entire energy consumption in bulk for over 10 years, with volumes totaling around 100 million kilowatt hours per year.
