US surpasses Algeria as Spain’s main gas supplier
During the past month of March, the American powerhouse covered 29.1% of the demand and consolidated itself as the main supplier during the first quarter of the year, as it already did in 2022.
This fact confirms the constant growth of gas imports via LNG, which this March already accounted for 79% of total imports, while in the same period last year they stood at 71%.
Despite the paradigm shift in gas acquisition methods, it should be noted that natural gas demand at the national level continues to decline, due to the drop in consumption and high temperatures; decreasing by 16% last month compared to March of the previous year.
