According to Susana de Pablo, CEO of Enagás GNL, during the “Gas Industrial Forum 2022” at @GasIndustrial.es, the voluntary reduction target proposed last July by the European Union has not been met due to a significant drop in industrial activity, which has been 35% lower compared to last year in the last month.
Although it may seem that the market is giving a momentary respite due to the high temperatures of the season and that gas reserves are at historical highs, this drastic drop highlights the critical situation of some gas-consuming companies, which have had to lower production due to the impossibility of assuming the high costs of this raw material.
