While waiting for its publication in the BOE to obtain more details, today the approval of the Royal Decree-Law has been announced in which the Spanish government gives the green light to 18 of the 73 measures contemplated in the “Plan Más Seguridad Energética”, valued at 3 billion euros and which mainly aim to protect small consumers and accelerate the energy transformation.

Among the measures announced for small consumers, the creation of a new regulated gas tariff (TUR) stands out for households with a communal boiler, which could obtain up to 50% savings on the gas bill. In addition, the social bonus, both electric and thermal, will be expanded, and finally, the invoice will be simplified, which must be more transparent and must include standardized information for all suppliers on the Iberian mechanism.

Regarding self-consumption, measures have been approved to promote the sharing of photovoltaic installations. Thus, the distance between two points for an electrical network to be considered self-consumption doubles, from 500 meters to one kilometer. Similarly, it will be allowed to have more than one self-consumption installation in a single cadastral reference.
